Travel demand management (TDM) is the application of strategies and policies to reduce the need for people to make trips (travel demand), or to redistribute travel demand in space or in time, in other words, to provide opportunities or incentives to encourage people to travel at different times (such as delayed start to work days, or higher pricing of transportation services during rush hours), or, to make shorter or alternate trip types. Telework, using technology to work from home, is one of those strategies.
Commuter Connections is a regional network of transportation organizations working to improve commutes in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The organization offers a host of free services and programs to assist employers and commuters with making smart choices about their commuting needs. Whether it’s ridematching, transit, bicycling or teleworking, Commuter Connections is poised to get you where you want to go and provide support along the way. Commuter Connections
